My major interest lies in understanding the factors that govern planktonic diversity, with a particular focus on zooplankton given my background in crustacean zooplankton taxonomy and ecology. In my recent project, I aim to reveal how mixotrophic chrysophyte algae affect secondary production and diversity of zooplankton in alpine lakes. Besides, I am also interested in the general ecology and conservation of small aquatic habitats, ponds and pools, studying how their communities are shaped by environmental gradients.
