Lake sampling under arctic conditions

As part of the monitoring of Lake Lunz, this was the first time the WasserCluster team took samples under ice. Conditions were quite challenging: -20 degrees and a sandwich of ice, snow and ice again on the lake!

Despite almost immediately freezing plankton nets and fingers, the inter-group team collected water samples, phyto- and zooplankton, and recorded a vertical profile.
