Till will study the genetic background of hatching timing in Daphnia magna during his postdoc research in the group of Luc De Meester at KU Leuven. His plan is to include and compare animals collected in Belgium, France and Austria. After Till has presented his project at the seminar series of WasserCluster Lunz, he and Zsófi armed themselves with shovels and buckets, and made a trip to the currently dry Seewinkel pans to collect as many resting eggs of Daphnia as possible. Till will surely have a lot of hatchlings in the next months to keep him busy! 🙂
